Bad experience buying fromLG store on line.

Took 3 weeks to be delivered. Bad communication throughout process. Got here and did not work on line with a rep who was hard to understand. Was on a tele call so did everything correctly but would not fill with water. All hoses new and correctly installed. The solution was to be told to keep trying and call back later. I cancled bought a GE and it was.delivered and used the next.day. it has been a week and the LG has still not been picked up. So much time wasted.

Had this washer since 2022. It is nothing but a bucket of bolts. Clothes come out smelling worse than they went in? Why...zero water gets anything clean. If you enjoy washing the same load of laundry 2x or 3x just to get some of the body odor smell out then this hunk of junk is for you. We spend more money on laundry soap than we ever did with Maytag. I swear when when the water and soap go in they simply go out the drain. Youd be better off cleaning your clothes manually in a riverbed than buying any LG wash machine. THE WORST

More noisy than my old Whirlpool. Water flowing into the drum is more noisy than I would like but it is not really that much of a problem. No drum light. The matching dryer does have a drum light. I have to keep a flashlight nearby to ensure everything gets removed from the washer.

I am dealing with my second LG washer that has failed to perform. The first was purchased in 2018. It required two repairs over its short life. After a third repair that became necessary it was replaced with a new washer in 2021. The first purchase was done without an extended warranty and the cost of repairs was approaching the cost of a new machine. The machine purchased in 2021 was accompanied by the purchase of an extended warranty. The first breakdown came within the first year and a half. the second probably a year after that and now dealing with the third breakdown. This time the repairman has visited four times and each time discovers another part that is required. The length without which I have had working is now slightly longer than three 3 months. This is an untenable by any standard. I bought the same machine twice and both machines had issues. LG does not have the appropriate quality control to provide a decent purchase worthy product.

My LG experience

If you live in central/southern Texas theres a strong possibility that you did not receive what you thought you ordered. Ordered first from Best Buy and when it was delivered it was the incorrect set. The washing machine was supposed to say True Balance on the right hand side I believe just below the panel. Nowhere on the washing machine did it say True Balance. The dryer was supposed to say Sensor Dry on the left hand side. Again nowhere on the dryer did it say that. BB tried three different times to correct the situation but I kept receiving the wrong set. So I went to Lowes and they physically had on display the set I wanted. So I came home and ordered online saved an additional $100 if you ordered online. I was excited and anxiously awaited my new w/d set. Guess what? It was the same set that Best Buy had tried to deliver three times. It was at that time that I realized it was a LG issue after spending about two hours to try to talk to someone. I was finally sent a text with a case number from the escalation department. In the text it said they would contact me within 4 to 7 business hours. I am sure they meant to say business days but so be it. It has now been three weeks and no one from LG has contacted me. I am trying to give LG the opportunity to make it right by perhaps purchasing and sending me what I thought I had ordered. The model numbers all matched but it was C not what BB had b displayed on their website or what Lowed had on display in their store. I dont get it I just want some answers and a washing machine and dryer. So if you have ordered model # WM4000HWA within the last 2-3 months theres a good possibility you didnt get what you thought you did. Close but one representative could not confirm that the washing machine that I did receive had the true balance feature. I am seriously considering contacting the local news stations to see if they will do a story on this. I have waited too long. Thanks LG for nothing.

Nothing at all special about this product. I dont expect it to last long. Never ever buy a washer without the extended warranty. They use a third party company to deliver it. They use a third party company to manage the delivery. All 3 companies dont communicate. LG is aware of all of it but because they are incompetent its just normal business for them. I purposely included the delivery information because of the email you finally responded to 2 months after I contacted you.

Purchased at a very good price. Delivery and installation was very prompt careful and courteous. Once installed we ran an empty cycle to try and remove the strong odor. Odor remained. We ran it a few more times odor remained. Wife felt nauseous from the strong obnoxious odor coming from the drum. We called and requested a pickup and full refund. Took many conference calls and emails and hours on the phone to get it done. after about a month LG finally sent someone to pickup the smelly machine and refunded my credit card.

MISTAKEbad machine/wont honor warranty

The washer broke after 9 months. LG will not honor the warranty. They sent out an on-lg service tech that said it was installed outside. Then another LG service tech said nothing about it being outside which it is not but that a drip from the hose that Home Depot installed caused water to enter the access paneloops. You voided the warranty. Its Home Depots fault. Any excuse to not honor the warranty. Plus its just a crappy machine and poorly designed.

Delivery nightmare

I should have listened to other reviewers. The logistics of the delivery was a nightmare. I will never buy from LG again. LGs website allowed me to choose 6/7/25 as my delivery date so I set aside my entire Saturday to receive it. They failed to deliver it Saturday citing being over capacity. No one from LG or Pantos was reachable Sunday. I was unable to reschedule delivery all day Monday despite spending hours trying. On Monday night they informed me it would be delivered Tuesday between 10am-2pm which was unacceptable as I would be at work until 3pm. Supervisor was unapologetic and said she had no control over the route. I had to go full Karen spending HOURS over several days to beg them to let me have an inkling of a say in what time the next delivery attempt would be. The links to tracking all said no tracking available. The emails continued to say expected delivery 6/7 even after 6/7 had passed. The website is glitchy. Nightmare.

I ordered this washer along with the matching dryer: DLEX4000B on April 24 2025. They arrived on the promised dateMay 7 2025. Today on June 6 2025exactly one month later and during just the seventh wash cyclethe washer broke down. It refuses to spin displaying a Vibration Sensor Errorwhatever that means. Its 10:40 PM on a Friday night and I have wet clothes sitting in my dryer. This is the first time I have purchased an LG product directly from lg.com. Unfortunately it will also be the lastno matter how great their products are or might become in the future.

Do Not Buy. Extremely Disappointed

I have purchased a new WM4000HWA washer and matching dryer. I have done extensive research and see that on many tech platforms and Consumer Reports this LG model is highly recommended and top rated. I was so excited because I have been without a washer and dryer for 2 months. My Samsung washer exploded and my dryer caught on fire after 15 years. After the LG machines were installed the gentleman started both the washer and dryer to make sure they work. When I opened the door to the washer this terrible chemical smell came pouring out. When I opened the dryer the gas fumes were so bad. I asked the installer and he said this is normal. He said run towels through first. I did the first load with just towels. Baffled that I am having to do this on my new machine. I opened the door and the chemical smell is now on my towels. So bad. Granted the machine was very quiet and spun great. I put the towels in the dryer. I turned the dryer on and it sounds like a rocket is going to take off with the gas pouring into the machine. I opened the door and it smells so bad. The clothes dried but it was scary. When I tried another load of laundry the washer started a weird humming noise. Then the spinning was speeding up and slowing down. When the towels were done they were not spun and wet. I put them into the dryer. The dryer started rattling and I looked and there is a bright fire under the right corner of the machine. I took a video. Im like what in the world. I even saw smoke. This is the 2nd load from my brand new washer and dryer. I am so shocked. The other thing I couldnt deal with is the display screen. The description of the cycles are not lit up. I had to shine my phone light on the display to see it. Also I could not connect to the WiFi of the machine. I called the appliance company and told them to pick the machines up. I woke up the next day with my face puffy and my ears full of fluid an allergic reaction to the chemicals I am assuming. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. This has cause me to completely not trust LG and the claim that they are the best.

When you cal you will spend hours on hold listening to a recording that says we acknowledge that your time is important. . . Hours later you realize that what LG is really saying that We acknowledge that you think your time is important to you. But - it aint important enough to us to provide decent customer service.

very faulty door lock feature

The door lock feature is highly annoying. It stays locked far too long. And sometimes even when youre putting in another load once you re-close the door it locks again. Tonight I forgot to put the pod in did not hit start just tried to reopen--nope locked again. The idea that the fix for this is to unplug it is unacceptable. Id have to be a contortionist to the reach the plug in our washer closet. Also the door STAYS locked long after the lock light is out which if memory serves is in the owners manual. Not sure why they would ever put out a washer that they know does that.

Very short drain hose lousy support.

The manual says the drain line must be 8 or less from the floor. Mine is 5 from the floor. Yet the washer comes with a hose that would only work if the drain line is 4 or less and only if it is on the left side of the washer. I chatted with support and they said I need a drain hose extension. I asked what the part # was for that and where I could get one. They didnt know and couldnt help me at all. As a work around I ran the drain line to the utility sink but it barely makes it there either.

I purchased an LG washing machine a year ago. It washes clothes. However after ever load it powers off and you have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to turn back on. I have been calling and having service people out for the last year. There have been so many mistakes missed appointments promises to set up appointments with no follow through it has been beyond ridiculous. Dont take my word for it. Better business bureau is full of the same reports. I was strung along until the warranty was up.

Faulty design

Washer has serious design flaws. The gasket has these little bumps that allow for water to be shot into the drum. Sounds great except the bumps will wear out over time from friction with clothes during spin cycles and start leaking water all over the floor. The gasket lasted about 2 years for me and a replacement cost $186.95 plus a $12 spring tool for replacement. Repair was difficult to accomplish. Would not recommend this model.

This product is awful. The washer after 2 years completely busted. Mind you Im washing baby clothes which are light and small - The drum completely cracked water everywhere and the customer service is TERRIBLE. I spent over 2 hours on the phone with them trying to get a replacement An LG repair man said its far beyond repair and costs more money to pay for the repair than if they were to supply a new one. I spoke to 3 different reps and they were all very useless. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT or anything from LG. The quality has completely plummeted.

The appliance itself works fine but it took several separate installation attempts and they still have not come to haul away of the appliance which I paid for. I was hoping that buying direct from the manufacturer the service would be better but the local company they contracted out to was pretty horrendous to work with ... multiple missed appointments. Done again - I would not have purchased from LG.

Do not buy this product - the machine itself offers good value but the service is so bad it makes the purchase a terrible experience. First the delivery they offer is really just truck drivers that will slam the machine into the room of choice. They dont have hoses or plugs and dont know how to hook up to even basic plumbing hookups. In my case it took 3 visits and I still needed to hire folks to install and then repair the damage done to plumbing and the room. Second Ive had mine for 6 months and its already leaking and LG is unable to provide warranty service in less than 10+ days because they dont have any local contractors. I have spoken with LG repeatedly about problems and they have confirmed there is nothing else they can do - except wait for a local contractor to pick up my service request.

Do not buy this washer. Numerous people have complained about a chemical smell like dry cleaning fluid. We have tried to run this washer several times since receiving this washer 3 days ago. We even tried a commercial washer cleaning tablet afresh. The chemical smell has not dissipated. The chemical odor gives me a headache which is a sign of neurotoxin exposure. LG wants me to run the washer several more times to get rid of the odor but many customers who have owned this product complain that the odor does not go away even after a year of use. Save your health and buy another brand of washer. If you dont believe me read all the other negative reviews on this product chemical smell written by customers who have owned this product over a long period of time and who cannot get rid of the odor.

WARNING UNSAFE MACHINE I purchased an LG Washing Machine Model# WM4000HWA on 11/29/24. On 1/7/25 the inner glass door on the unit spontaneously and completely shattered. The unit was not in use at the time when I heard a loud crashing sound and went to the unit and found broken glass on the floor and inside the machine. I immediately contacted LG Customer Service and they refused to cover the damage under the manufacturers warranty and claimed it was our fault. LG claimed the damage was caused by how we used the machine but for the 41 days we had the machine it was probably used a dozen times with very typical clothing loads. LG arranged a local repair service center to come to assess the unit. After the technician looked at the machine for 2 minutes he somehow concluded that it was NOT a manufacturer defect and therefore the damage was customer responsibility. They suspiciously provided no evidence or reason for this conclusion. This spontaneously shattering glass has been cited before https://www.businesskorea.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=119065. This article states that According to the Korea Consumer Agency spontaneous exploding glass is a phenomenon in which nickel sulfide which is introduced in tiny amounts during the production process of plate glass expands in volume after tempering or naturally breaks by small scratches during processing and product use. The only contact I have received from this Presidential team were text messages stating that someone attempted to call us but no one answered. This is a not true as I have carefully paid attention to and answered every call that I have received since this incident occurred. Also I have never received a voicemail from the Presidential Team and the text messages are from a phone number that cannot be replied to. The outcome of not being able to contact us is that LG has closed the case. There is nothing more I can do now other than filing a complaint with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Better Business Bureau. Report an unsafe consumer product to CPSC online at: www.SaferProducts.gov or call CPSCs toll-free hotline at: 800 638-2772. The 4/5 stars is for the washer itself. We had a similar LG before and it lasted about 8 years. Worked well then started leaking. I think it shouldve lasted longer but nothing is built for longevity anymore. If I could give our experience ordering with LG negative stars I would. Since you cant walk into a store anymore and purchase appliances to take home that day they need to be ordered I assumed going directly to the source would be easier than a big box store. I was wrong. When I placed my order with LG I was given an IN HOME delivery date of 1/3. Not too bad well go a week without a washer and dryer. Lowes wouldve been a little faster but we were saving money going through LG. However LG subs out delivery to a third party and my appliances were delivered to their hub on 1/3. This company then sends an email for me to select my delivery date - first available? 1/20 I spent the whole day on the phone between LG and the delivery company trying to get an earlier delivery date. Or even to go pick up the appliances ourselves the hub was 15 minutes from our house. Then Im told management has 24-48 hours to approve any change to delivery and since theyre closed on Sundays that meant they had until Monday to let me know if I could pick the order up. If they denied it? That earliest delivery date kept getting pushed farther back. And on LGs end it said my in home delivery was complete LG - if this is your policy you need to state that. If you give a date for in home delivery that doesnt mean delivery to the hub and then were at the mercy of the hubs schedule. With broken machines every day counts. I ended up canceling my order with LG ordered through Lowes and got the machines delivered two days later.

Have owned 3 LG washers 2 of this version and very disappointed. Both versions of this one started having issues right before the warranty was up. They sent someone to work on them and told fixed. One had to be replaced right around 3 months after the warranty was up. The second kept having issues after it was fixed and then needed replaced less than a year after the warranty was up. Do not buy They also get a smell even when you empty the drain thing on the bottom and clean that filter follow the manuals directions for cleaning the washer/tub and wipe it out and leave the door open.

Purchased this washer since I heard LGs are reliable. I was interested in the direct drive design as I thought it might be more reliable than the belt driven models. It washes fast but I wish the clothes werent twisted together after the spin cycle. Its also louder than I thought it would be. Our bedroom is above the laundry room and I can hear it running.

Ive had this machine for 7 weeks. It washes very well is reasonably quiet and uses very little detergent. Im using about 3/4 of a tablespoon on most loads to keep the suds down. Initially there was a strong chemical smell but that has finally dissipated. I always leave the door and the detergent drawer open when the machine is not is use. It replaces a similar LG that was 12 years old and failing.

I ordered a washer and dryer set online directly from LG on 11/8/2024 Model WM4000HWA and DLGX5501W. When the order was placed it stated The carrier will contact you between Mon Nov 18 and Wed Nov 20. My credit card was accepted and the funds were transferred on 11/12/24. I received a text message from LG on 11/8 acknowledging the order and assigning an order number with an Estimated delivery date of 11-18-2024. On 11/9/2024 I received the following text message: LG Electronics USA: Your LG order is ready to be shipped Its time to check your calendar. Estimated deliver date: 11-18-2024. On 11-14-24 I received the following text message: RXO: Were your LG Electronics delivery partner. Once your product arrives well contact you to arrange delivery. RXO never called me so I contacted them. They said they never received the washer dryer from LG. So I called LG Customer service who told me they had proof of delivery to RXO. I then called RXO back. They said they would conduct a dock search and would contact me within 24 to 48 hours. They even created an Issue Number to track the problem. After spending hours on the phone with LG Customer Service and RXO no one has fulfilled there promise of a response within 24 to 48 hours. It is now 1/16/2025 and I still do not have the washer dryer which I paid for. The LG website has a message center to contact the President of LG with a message which I did. I was sent a text message back by the Presidents Liaison who said they would research the case and update me. Two weeks after receiving a text message from this person I still have no definite information about when my washer and dryer will arrive. Over the years I have completed numerous online orders with many companies. I own an LG refrigerator and TV. But this experience with LG Electronics has been the absolute worst online order experience I have ever had. The lack of response and incompetence is unbelievable. I purchase LG products because of the good reviews on Consumer Reports but I would strongly caution anyone from ordering directly from LG.

Bought about 14 months ago. Only leaked out of the soap dispenser twice Reported the second leak on 12/26 and LG did honor the one year warranty because the first one was reported in September and they are sending me a new soap dispenser. When I get it maybe Ill update this review. I also dont know why I was sent this review request because this machine was definitely not free or discounted except for a small sale at the store. The dispenser as far as I know I havent been billed for.

The Consumer Reports review for this washing machine and the LG deal was too good to say no. Anyways Im extremely happy with this upgrade Its quieter more efficient by adjusting time based off load size also love how the machine updates my LG app and Alexa. No more constantly checking on progress or leaving clothes in the washing machine mold. Highly recommend
